As an Iowa-Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I work from a humanistic, strengths-based perspective and serves individual adults in my practice at QC Counselor. I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) approaches to help clients build awareness into and change the stories that impact their lives as well as mindfulness techniques to help individuals regulate their nervous system function and build a sense of safety and security within their own bodies.
Healing trauma is my primary focus. Since 2024, I have been a Certified Provider in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), an 8-12 session approach for healing past trauma and PTSD. In 2025, I received supervision and extensive training in Prolonged Exposure (PE) Therapy. Both therapies confront the avoidance that keep individuals "stuck" in their trauma.
I believes in the dignity, power and potential of human beings and make it my personal and professional mission to help clients recognize this power within themselves and their world through education, empowerment, empathy and respect.
