For me, the ideal client comes motivated and seeking change in their life. The focus is on the client and what they would like to change. Therapy is not about focusing on the problem, but finding a solution to the problems. This allows the client to grow beyond what has happened. Using CBT to reframe and challenge the current thought patterns to improve outcomes for the client. It does not matter what the issue is, it is how you think about it. IT is important to focus on the client and their solutions for their life. Thay are here to seek help with their mental deficits within the moment to better cope with things in the now.
I have 10 years of experience providing services to a mixed population of adolescent and adults. My specialties are in trauma, anger management, men's issues, and a variety of other diagnoses. I believe that my greatest gifts is to build trust through connection. It is imperative to provide an empathetic ear and allow the client to feel heard and valued.
