Hello! My name is Matthew Dean and I am a Resident in Counseling. I am excited to tenderly explore your story with curiosity as you seek growth and healing. As a gay man, I know that I have experience working with people who want help with depression, anxiety, trauma, and LGBTQ+ issues. In a therapy session there is room for everything you are feeling. Through awareness of our thoughts, feelings, and bodies, change can begin to occur. I believe the therapeutic relationship of the counselor/client is uniquely suited to facilitate that change.
I am passionate about working with adults and teenagers who are seeking help and guidance in moving through whatever their struggles are. I pull from several theories, including Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment Theory, and have a trauma-informed approach.
As a gay man, I understand that your unique and often hidden experiences matter. My goal is to offer tenderness, space, and care for your stories. I look forward to joining you on the road to healing and growth!
