Yes, accepting new clients! Sometimes it's nice to have a trained person in your back pocket who isn't a spouse, life partner, friend, sibling or co-worker who will actively listen and collaborate to make sense of everything. Each client is different and we'll work to figure out the right approach for you. I hope I'm a thoughtful, authentic, creative catalyst to increased self-awareness and personal growth. In all likelihood, we'll laugh a little because you almost have to nowadays. I love educating and empowering people as a long-term strategy to overcome adversity and believe effective counseling has to be a partnership.
At 53, the life experience I've had often offers a lot of "been there, done that." In general, my approach is pretty eclectic and I try to pull from a lot of different areas. I have a particular interest in vicarious trauma, anxiety, addictive behavior, grief and giftedness. I really enjoy working with people initially resistant to therapy!
Open to working with just about anyone but especially interested in first responders, firefighters, medics, police, teachers and others who often deal with high stress and acute vicarious trauma. I also enjoy working with clients to help reduce and manage anxiety. Grief is another very powerful emotion, but something I'm trained in and can help overcome.
