Do repetitive thoughts or habits preoccupy you, consume valuable time, or
alienate you from others? If so, you may have Obsessive-Compulsive
Disorder, or OCD. If you have questions about OCD or its treatment - for yourself or someone you know - please contact me. I have specialized in
helping people with OCD since 2002. OCD 'triggers' are often more severe in someone's home environment, and symptoms can make it especially difficult to attend outside appointments, so I work with people in their own homes and communities in addition to meetings at my office.
Family members are often included in portions of treatment. Involvement must be specific to the individual and discussed and agreed upon by the person in treatment and their family. I also collaborate with schools, mental health centers, and other organizations to improve the availability and efficacy of treatment for OCD.
My career in OCD treatment began at the first OCD-specific residential
treatment center, the OCD Institute at McLean Hospital, of Harvard Medical
School. I am a member of the Obsessive-Compulsive Foundation, I offer trainings and conduct research. With proper treatment, people gain control over their symptoms. OCD treatment works!
