As a therapist and family mediator, I've heard from clients that I'm thoughtful, speak plainly, and have a calm, calming presence. They like my caring and humor. Sometimes I'm insightful. I'm not easily thrown by things like conflict, graphic stories, or things you think nobody will understand. I sometimes see people under a lot of stress, and I try not to judge anyone by their worst decisions or moments. I've paid a lot of attention to family dysfunction, trauma, abuse, race/racism, gender and sexuality, cultural differences, and more. I'm always ready to talk about how our experiences shape us.
A variety of clients have found me helpful, so I'm not one-dimensional. But my specialty is relationships. As a therapist and family mediator, I work a lot with couples and families, or individuals dealing with a difficult relationship. I also support people with a divorce or separation; or struggling to co-parent afterwards. (I run Austin Divorce Groups.)

Groups
Life After Divorce/Separation, starting June 2026
Life After Divorce is an 8-session series, co-led with Jen Herz, LCSW. We'll meet every other Tuesday, 4:30 - 6pm, starting June 23rd. Currently accepting new members. Located just off MoPac at 2222. Mixed gender, LGBTQ+ affirming. Each meeting focuses on one aspect of adjusting to divorce. Divorce and separation can be very isolating, and past group members have shared how much it helped to meet others going through the same thing. NOTE: Let me know if you want to be informed the next time we offer this group.
