For years (decades!) I have been treating substance abuse, trauma, anxiety, stress, depression, and other disorders in adolescents and adults at my office in Newton. Helping people move from crisis to long-term healthy living is my passion. I offer individual therapy, group therapy, and families/couples therapy depending upon the need. My general approach is that life is good. It is not always easy, but it is always good. Regardless of the suffering we have faced - and some have faced a lot - or the difficulty of our current circumstances, people can learn to survive and thrive. Helping patients get to that place brings me joy.
Over many years, I have developed a substantial group therapy practice. I am always available for individual sessions and I deliver dozens of indiviual sessions each week, but I have found that people learn from each other and inspire each other in a well-led group setting. Some groups may based on age or gender, others on themes like trauma or sobriety.
No matter what may be troubling you, I will always listen attentively and empathetically to understand your life as you see it, and to help you develop plans and outlooks that can help you build the life you want. I believe it is possible and I take great pleasure in helping you achieve your goals for a happy life.
