I place a heavy emphasis on authenticity, vulnerability, and connection when it comes to mental health. I believe that if addiction is a disease of isolation, then the solution to that is connection, with oneself and others. In my work with clients, I believe in helping them to cultivate self-acceptance, which leads to an improved sense of self-worth and greater love for oneself. Additionally, I encourage clients to have compassion for themselves, while having an appreciation for the therapeutic process. I consider it my role to help others discover and become their true self, so that what’s on the inside matches the outside.
When working with clients, I use a combination of the Neuro-affective relational model (NARM), acceptance and commitment, and solution-focused theories, as well as motivational interviewing. My work is also grounded in 12-step principles, which I believe to be vital in the treatment of addiction.
I possess a unique skillset and have practical experience with the disease of addiction and other mental health disorders. This, in addition to my education in clinical social work, make me well suited to help you with any mental health issues that you're facing. Please feel free to reach out to me to set up an appointment.
