Masi Kadzai and I have an LCSW. I use a blended approach that includes a trauma-informed approach with spirituality and mindfulness practices to create Balance. I work with young adults and teenagers as young as twelve years old and young adults to twenty-five years of age. Then working with adults ranging from twenty-six to someone in their sixties. I create a colorful and calm environment with many supportive posters for clients to draw their visual supports and also use calming meditative music to create calm for the client to quiet and still their mind. The client will feel calm and relaxed.
As a social worker, now LCSW, I saw a lot of people from different walks of life and I have some information I would like to share with them. Information that can help them reach their goals and dreams and feel happy and whole again. I take that mandate very seriously.
We discuss some short-term and then long-term goals and then we have steps to reach the goals set for the client. To introduce myself and answer any questions the client would have for me as a clinician. It's extremely important that the client feels comfortable and more especially that they are in a sacred space.
