I love working with couples! Therapy is a great place to talk where it's safe and get things out with someone like a mediator to support communication, where both partners feel heard and understood. Many of those I work with are overwhelmed or disconnected while struggling with communication, betrayals of trust, being stuck in the same arguments, stress buildup, impacts of trauma, emotional overwhelm, or are part of the LGBTQIA+ community. My approach focuses on meaningful and lasting progress that extends beyond my office, so that you can feel confident in your relationships and communication without me, too.
This is for you, not me! It's important that you feel supported and understood with your therapist, so I check in regularly to make sure the process feels right for you. I'm educated and trained in many approaches, so we can always adjust for the best fit. Some models I use are EFT, Gottman, ACT, CBT, Solution-Focused, Narrative, EMDR, & IFS, among others.
I use a neuro-informed, attachment-based, and trauma-aware lens. This means I consider the whole picture! Including how your body, brain, past experiences, external systems, and relationships may influence what's going on today. Your nervous system is doing its best with what it's learned, and sometimes you just need a chance to give it an update!
