Life's a journey, with many unexpected twists and turns. Sometimes we need someone to talk to, someone to share our thoughts and feelings, dreams and fears, and help guide us toward resolution. I want to help my clients navigate this path, and to also experience the possibilities of living their best life possible. I work with older teens and adults, and also specialize in women's issues across the lifespan, as well as those with health concerns. College students are a special interest, as are educators, as I’ve worked as a teacher and school counselor and understand the stress and dynamics associated with the profession.
I'm a mom, stepmom and wife, and have successfully blended a family--I understand and am intimately familiar with the challenges of today's family and the nuances of communication in a variety of family constellations. I was widowed, and a single mom for many years, and have first-hand knowledge of the struggles and triumphs of that role.
As a trauma-informed therapist with a unique understanding of anxiety, I am familiar with how grief and loss cloud our lives and impact us. I approach therapy through attachment theory by exploring one's personal history. I view myself as an optimist, and my experience is proof that help and healing are real and attainable.
