Hello, and welcome! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of NJ, and I want to help you find your way to a more fulfilling and meaningful life. Before becoming a Mental Health Counselor, I was in the US Air Force for 22 years. While serving I developed an interest in behavioral health and helping others which led me to the counseling field. My background includes working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and military personnel and their families. I have experience helping with substance use, anxiety, depression, ADHD, stress-management, grief and loss, as well as trauma.
As a professional, I draw from my training and experiences to offer effective and meaningful care. My preferred methods used in therapy include a variety of techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness.
My goal is that clients will feel encouraged to handle life's challenges with confidence and develop a belief in their ability to live fulfilling lives. I'm a great listener and naturally optimistic. I love to encourage people and am inclined to see the good in others. I enjoy helping people feel comfortable and at ease, especially with the use of humor.
