I offer a space in which we pay close attention to what is happening in and around you—emotionally, spiritually, bodily, relationally—and provide a sense of calm as we do so. We work together to connect you to the meaning beneath the surface of your pain, bringing not only relief but an increased capacity to tolerate future struggles as well. Part of our work will involve exploring your life's patterns and expanding the awareness needed to helpfully shift them. You will grow non-judgmental curiosity about yourself and others through this process, which will nurture a richer and freer engagement in your relationships.

The way I work is integrative, which means I draw from several theories about how people develop, heal and change. Although you will likely experience relief from acute levels of pain initially, often the suffering we find ourselves in has been years in the making and is therefore honored by the time it takes to build new patterns of living.

My appreciation for the influence of cultural and religious values can also inform our process, if that is important to you. Because finding a therapist with whom you can feel a sense of trust and safety is vital, I offer a free 15-minute consultation for you to see if we might work well together. I primarily work from a psychoanalytically-oriented lens. This way of seeing pays attention to how things outside of awareness are emerging in patterns to ultimately support you. For example, these patterns may show up relationally, in the form of recurring dreams, and through bodily and/or emotional symptoms. Practically, this means you must commit to the work on a weekly basis at minimum.
