No childhood is perfect. Growing up can be an exciting and beautiful experience at times, but it is also hard work- and it can really be a lot to feel! How do we help our children grow to be as happy and confident as possible in this complicated world? How can we help them relate in a healthy way to the full range of emotions that come with a meaningful life? Parents have an important and challenging job to do. Every child is unique. Our children sometimes unknowingly stand on the bruises of our own childhood or adulthood in ways that can surprise and confuse us.
I am a clinical & developmental psychologist. Knowing typical patterns for how children’s thinking, communication and coping skills evolve as they grow helps me meet children where they are and think & feel alongside them. My flexible, integrative approach is tailored to help children better navigate their inner/outer worlds and parents know how to help.
I understand that seeking therapy for yourself or, especially, for your child, is both an act of love and a leap of faith. I am happy to give you any information that will help you take the right next step for yourself and your family.
