I enjoy helping my clients work through the most difficult of life's challenges. I work with individuals from all walks of life, struggling with a variety of conditions and life situations. I take a collaborative approach to treatment, emphasizing personal control in therapy. My interest in psychotherapy stems from my fascination with language and communication. I have spent years researching language from the perspectives of philosophy, linguistics, and psychology. This research informs my clinical style such that I have an ear attuned to the subtleties of communication, which many of my patients find extremely supportive.
I offer psychotherapy in styles ranging from interpersonal and psychodynamic to CBT and DBT. I have experience working with medical professionals struggling with compassion fatigue and work-related trauma. I also treat individuals with depression, generalized anxiety disorder, adjustment disorder, panic disorder, grief/bereavement, PTSD, and chronic pain.
I have experience working in outpatient psychotherapy in a variety of settings, from hospital-based outpatient psychiatry clinics to embedded psychotherapeutic services in primary care and rehabilitation. My private practice re-opened in March 2021, where I am excited to expand my availability to those requiring treatment in the Middlebury area.
