I’m Mary Kate Ulshafer, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 5 years of experience. I specialize in helping children (ages 5-10), preteens (11-13), teens (13-18), and young adults (18-20) of any gender identity or sexual orientation navigate life changes, anxiety, depression, mood and behavior difficulties, trauma, identity issues, and low self-esteem. I offer both individual and family counseling and have extensive experience working with the LGBTQ+ community.
I received my Master’s in Social Work from Kennesaw State University, and I utilize trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, client-centered therapy, and motivational interviewing in my practice. I’m also familiar with trauma-informed care and crisis intervention.
My approach provides a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment to inspire change, engagement, and growth. I value a collaborative and creative approach, focusing on my clients' strengths, interests, and goals. I truly believe that meaningful change comes from trust, education, and empowerment.
