My name is Kat and I have been providing services as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia since completing my Master of Education in Counselor Education in 2023. Through my work, I've been able to work with clients from a wide range of backgrounds and presenting concerns. Most often, I've worked with folks struggling with relationships, self-esteem, and activities of daily living as a result of trauma, mood disorders, or systemic limitations. I have a particular passion for supporting clients with a history of sexual trauma work towards healing and empowerment.
To help clients work towards wellness, my practice is grounded in person-centered therapy. This therapeutic orientation results from my belief that humans have an inclination towards becoming fully functioning and allows me to bring in elements of any modalities that may support the client's work.
My goal for therapy is to provide a safe climate conducive to clients’ self-exploration so they may move towards openness, greater trust in self, willingness to be a process, and experiencing life fully.
