About
Regardless of age, emotional stress and difficulties can get in the way of reaching one's optimal level of functioning. As a licensed clinical social worker, I provide intensive individual psychotherapy to adolescents and adults. I practice from a psychoanalytic perspective because my professional experience has shown me that this way of working can result in deep and meaningful change that is lasting. I also incorporate other styles and techniques depending on the clinical needs of the individual, some of these include CBT and stress management strategies.
Over the twenty-eight years, my clinical focus has involved working in a collaborative way to identify and treat painful symptoms some of which include depression, anxiety, difficulty managing anger, low self esteem, self critical thinking and addictive tendencies including alcohol and food.
Lastly, finding a therapist who is a good fit can be an overwhelming process and even more so if someone is experiencing a lot of painful emotions. In my practice, I strive to create a therapeutic environment in which people can feel safe to share what is on their mind and in their feelings, with the goal of creating a richer and more satisfying life.
