About
All mental & emotional health rests upon positive self esteem. It is unlikely that a person will become depressed or anxious if they believe in themselves,... if they believe they have value. Self talk reflects the way we feel about ourselves. If a person's thinking is the same after therapy, as it was before, than nothing was accomplished. Issues, such as low self-esteem, may benefit from a psycho-dynamic approach. That is because the way we think about ourselves starts in early childhood. How we think about ourselves effects everything we do,...every decision we make.
I'm an out-of-the-box kind of provider...not a counselor for the masses. The treatment I provide is not generic, but tailored to the needs of the individual. I connect best with clients who have a 'type B' personality, since that is very much who I am. My life experiences have been varied, which allows me to relate to many of the struggles clients face.
I encourage clients to find balance in their lives, as I strive to do in mine. I'm a psychotherapist, an exhibiting artist, an adventurer & a pet owner. I don't have a caseload of 100 clients as many clinicians do. I'm at a place in my life where, thankfully, I don't need to do that. I enjoy helping clients find their way in this world & to savour the day.
