I am a family-oriented psychotherapist of the soul. I work individually with adults and youth, and with families together. How we see ourselves in our families - past, present, future - often provides the foundation for how we form our initial identity. Our identity, in turn, shapes how we act at home and in the world. The therapeutic process provides first a mirror to reflect our own sometimes hidden selves, and a light to gain unique insight into who we are and what we are here to do in this world.
Serious personal or family problems, or crises, usually mean there is a turning point. My job is to help individuals and families to discover how to transform these turning points into positive change. My specialty is to listen, and reflect, in a safe and supportive setting. I work with people from all walks of life, including families, and children.
I use tools and skills from a broad range of traditions including CBT, brief strategic family therapy, short term solution focused therapy, and parts work - that is, recognizing that we all have different parts of ourselves which sometimes work together, and sometimes not.
