I have found that humor, empathy and understanding, for oneself and others, are key elements in building relationships with people. These qualities are the foundation of all good psychotherapy. I am comfortable working with people from varying spiritual traditions. My abilities are well suited to people who are emotionally sensitive or traumatized. I have worked well with individuals who have had treatment failures in the past, people who are creative, gifted individuals, adolescents and children. Play therapy is effective with children who have cognitive delays.
As a doctoral level psychologist I have never lost my desire to learn more about the human experience. I am grateful to have had some of the best teachers one could hope for in my 37 years of practice. I have a flexible schedule and return calls promptly.
My practice is small, employs no staff and provides a high level of confidentiality. Some of my patients see me in a rural location, where canine consultation is available, others find it more convenient to see me in my office in Racine. Both locations provide a rich vocabulary of toys, art materials and miniatures .
