American poet, Walt Whitman, once said, “I do not ask the wounded person how he feels, I myself become the wounded person.” Like Whitman, I would like to share in your experiences. As a counselor, my role is to see you, walk with you and empower you in your journey of healing and growth.
My therapeutic orientation combines a compassionate, person-centered approach with internal family systems theories & techniques. I am passionate about providing culturally responsive therapy that serves the unique needs and experiences of BIPOC, minority and first/second generation immigrant communities.
I specialize in depression, anxiety, C-PTSD/PTSD, trauma, abuse, grief, loss, multicultural and faith-related issues. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Art Therapy techniques are often used in sessions.
I have experience working with children, young adults, and adult populations.
Everyone deserves to be seen, heard, understood and cared for. Your past, your pain and your wounds are not your fault. Your path to healing is one that does not have to be walked alone. It would be an honor to journey with you into those deep, wounded parts, as it is there where true healing happens.
