My name is Martha Bethea and I started Harmonious Mind to provide personalized mental health care to individuals struggling to build healthy and satisfying lives. As a 29 year old member of the LGBTQ+ community, I am uniquely positioned to aid individuals adjusting to life transitions and expressions of sexuality and gender. My professional experience has provided me with the skills and disposition necessary to aid persons struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, suicidal ideation and other mental health concerns commonly experienced by individuals aged 12 and up.
As a former suicidal teen, I specialize in working with teens and young adults who struggle with suicidal ideation. Working with me, you can expect to feel heard and understood. Together we will practice tolerating discomfort and trying hard things. Each week you can expect to leave with concrete action steps to practice on the way to achieving your goals.
Beginning counseling can feel overwhelming, and you have already taken the first step. Together, we can undo any harm caused by previous engagements with mental health treatment. Through my years of experience and education and your exploration of yourself, we can work collaboratively to move from distress and suffering to peace and healing.
