I received my Bachelors Degree in Social Work from Weber State University, Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Argosy University and advanced Addiction Training from the Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals.
I support the development of each individual's inner guidance and direction. My years of experience working with substance and behavior addictions have created a strong foundation which supports lasting healthy recovery. I accomplish this by utilizing my training in EMDR, Emotionally Focused Therapy & Gottman's Sound Relationship House. I have found great success with those who have otherwise lost hope. My approach is free of judgment and remains deeply empathetic. I am a genuine clinician who is uniquely proficient in reaching through to the seemingly unreachable.

I consider my style to be a healthy balance between empathy and coaching. I prefer to lean into validation and warmth, but I’m a straightforward communicator when needed to help you succeed. I enjoy supporting individuals ages 18+ and couples (pre-marital/marital). I utilize various models of therapy but value how Solution-Focused Therapy (SFBT) helps clients recognize your inherent strengths and overall resilience when facing life’s challenges. I use Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for distress in relationships.

Hello! I'm Dr. David Haralson. If you are looking for exceptional, world-class therapy, look no further. I help clients (and their families) to "reach their oasis" - a place within their nervous system where they feel calm and connected. I go beyond simply helping my clients feel understood (although that will happen too), by gently helping them face and overcome their fears. My approach is gentle, playful, honest, family-oriented, transparent, and evidenced-based

With almost 20 years of experience as a marriage and sex therapy I've created a philosophy and roadmap to help couples figure out what they want and what is keeping them from getting what they want.
Are you close to the end of your rope and wonder if there is any hope? Resentments, unresolved conflicts, sexual intimacy problems, trust issues, infidelity, pornography use, growing apart and thinking about divorce are the issues that I really like working with. If any of these hit close to home, we might have a good match. Warning: - I'm light, a little irreverent, but I don't lose focus on results. My focus is on helping you find out what you want and then work through the nitty gritty and create lasting change quickly. Get a Free copy of my book by going to www.emilharker/free-book so you can get a feel of my approach.

Is your marriage unhappy? Feeling disconnected from your partner is painful. You used to feel passionate love for your partner...and now you just feel like roommates. If your relationship has experienced a betrayal, it can be hard to know how to move forward. No one plans for their relationship to fall into disrepair - but there's hope. Change can happen. Relationships can be healed.

We work with adolescents, families, couples, marriage, and individuals.
As Christian counselors, we believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He came to reveal the Father’s heart & through His life, death & resurrection He decisively accomplished Gods saving work. He engages us in the Divine Relationship that we were created by, for, through and in. We seek, along with you, the client, loving purpose, healing, & direction of the Trinity in the counseling sessions. As licensed therapist, we consider our efforts inadequate apart from the grace & presence of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are blessed & humbled to go to work each day & see Christ working in people's lives in an intimate way.

Marriage Counseling Therapists

How does marriage counseling work?

Marriage counseling works by teaching couples concrete skills to communicate with one another and solve disagreements in healthy ways. A trained mental health professional works with both members of a couple to explore difficulties the couple may be having and helps them develop skills to address these matters. Couples who don’t have any difficulties but want to prepare for marriage may develop skills for the future.

How long does marriage counseling typically last?

Marriage counseling is a short-term form of therapy; the process may last between four and eight sessions. Other forms of relationship guidance from mental health professionals, such as couples therapy, are longer lasting, may focus on the past rather than just the present, and are tailored to the individual couple and their emotions, history, and patterns in the relationship. Couples therapy often lasts for 12 weeks or longer.

Is marriage counseling effective?

Marriage counseling helps many couples develop relationship skills that may not have been acquired or tested in a relationship; partners may be better able to communicate and address conflict following counseling. However, there are many different forms of marriage counseling, and this form of counseling does not have as strong an evidence base as other modalities such as couples therapy.

Is marriage counseling effective if only one partner wants to go?

Yes, marriage counseling can still be effective if one partner convinces the other to engage in the process. Of course, whether counseling is effective depends on the couple’s commitment to work on their relationship; however, the short-term, skills-based nature of marriage counseling makes it a relatively easy “ask” of a partner, and the hesitant individual may see its value once counseling begins.
