I believe in a client-centered and client-directed approach in working with individuals, couples, and families. Anxiety, depresion, grief and loss, trauma, marriage and relationship issues, parenting issues, and adoption issues can all be barriers to living a fulfilling life. My role is to help you overcome those barriers blocking your progress, interfering with relationships, and holding you back. I have worked with families and children via the child welfare system - focusing on abuse, neglect, behavioral, and parenting issues for nearly 30 years - and began seeing clients in private practice more than 5 years ago.

As one of the few doctoral level marriage and family therapists in the area, I bring a unique expertise to the counseling experience drawing on almost 25 years of working with individuals, couples, and families.

I know what it's like to struggle with the challenges of family, parenting, aging, grief, employment, marriage, life transitions, career loss, self fulfillment and purpose. Married for over 44 years, having owned a family business, I learned firsthand how to find purpose and peace in the midst of stress, depression, loss, anxiety and grief. I draw on personal experiences of raising children, marriage, owning a business, aging parents, loss of loved ones, major life transitions, depression, anxiety, addiction and stress. These life experiences give me a unique understanding and ability to help clients overcome similar challenges.

After attending college, I enlisted in the US Air Force and served my country with honor before transferring to the Air Force Reserve to continue my service and pursue a higher education. In the counseling field I'm not sure if there is an "ideal client," However, I do believe there is an ideal therapist for every client. So, the question is, am I the ideal therapist for you?
