I make difficult concepts simple using humor, story-telling & analogies. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to address the thoughts, feelings, beliefs and actions which may be obstacles to getting where you would like to be. I also rely heavily on Positive Psychology, which uses a strength-based approach (rather than a focus on problems). When working with Traumatic events, I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

I received my Master of Arts in Counseling from St. Edward's University, in Austin, Texas in August 2005. In 2003, I received my Master of Arts in Human Services from St. Edward's. In 2001 I graduated from St. Edward's University with a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Psychology. In December 2011, I graduated from Argosy University in Dallas, Texas with a Doctor of Clinical Psychology.

I had a psychology practice in Austin for 20 years, relocating to Albuquerque in 2012. As an outgrowth of my continuing work with clients from Texas, I have developed a specialty in providing internet therapy. My specialties include eating disorders, complex mood disorders, personality disorders, recovery from narcissistic abuse, and helping families with "failure to launch" young adults.
