I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate with a Master of Arts in Marriage & Family Therapy. I've worked with teens & adults, focusing on a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief/loss, coping skills for stress, self-harm & suicidal ideations, body-image issues, abuse & trauma, marriage & family relational conflicts, and taking control of thoughts, feelings, & behaviors. I've also had the opportunity of working with at-risk women through a non-profit organization. While pursing my degree in Sports Medicine, I was drawn to the mental & emotional side of athletics & my passion shifted towards counseling.

As a Marriage and Family Therapist, my goals are to create a safe and supportive environment in which all individuals can thrive, contributing to a healthier and happier family life. I love working with children and adolescents, and use play therapy, art, and music to help them express feelings and concerns when words don’t come so easily. I also value working with couples and individuals to explore the impact their family of origin or current relationships are having on their emotions and coping. Dr. Abbassi is an expert in couple's communication and sexual issues. He is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist(LMFT), Certified Sex Therapist by American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and approved Supervisor of LPC and LMFT. He works with individual (children and Adults) in the area of depression, anxiety and general life difficulties. Dr. Abbassi has been in private practice for over 26 years. As a full Professor at local Institute of Higher Education, Dr. Abbassi teaches and provides supervision to Counseling Interns for both LPC & LMFT boards.
