My education is in Marriage and Family Therapy and I have been licensed since 2003. I have worked with a variety of clients over the years and enjoy this work so very much. I apply a Christian/faith-based approach to counseling and am trained in both theology and professional counseling. I am an ordained minister and pastoral counselor. I work successfully with youth struggling in their everyday lives. Examples include anxiety over internal conflicts, grades, peers, & parents. I enjoy working with adults as they navigate new transitions i.e. marriage, parenthood or experience the challenges of parenthood. I'm interested in helping individuals & families deal with end of life planning trying to answer the awkward question, "So, what do you want to do?" What life saving measures should be taken if you become ill? What relationships need to be repaired? I want to help facilitate this difficult topic with elderly parents or terminally ill youth.

I have over 14 years of clinical experience working with individuals, couples, and families, and I teach the practice and research of marriage and family therapy at a local university as an associate professor. Amy has a Masters of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Education from Stephen F. Austin State University. Amy is certified in the Prepare/Enrich Counseling program and enjoys helping couples grow in their marriage by resolving conflict and managing major stressors in their relationship and families. Amy also has experience working with individuals battling anxiety, depression and relationship issues. She enjoys working with teens, children, individuals, and couples. Amy uses Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Solution-focused Brief therapy.
