I started Family Matters Counseling Center after I realized that a family system is one that the client creates and is not born into. From here I developed a passion to learn each unique families story to help them overcome their obstacle in maintaining balance within their family system. Tau Healing Services is available for the needs of those suffering from situational, family, or personal issues that are causing distress in life. Tau means true. Healing is viewed as a process of becoming well. The aim of Tau Healing Services is to provide professional and quality services that assist in the healing process by natural means and with the assistance of grace.

My behavioral health work began in 1988, with adolescents and their families, branching into extremely effective work with addictions and couples counseling. I am trained in EMDR & Brainspotting (BSP), a very fast paced healing process for all types of trauma, PTSD, abuse issues, anxiety, overwhelming emotions, grief issues and cravings. I work most quickly with athletes suffering from mental blocks, injuries and other issues inhibiting performance even though the injury is completely healed. Many of my athletic clients have completed in just a two hour session.

I am here to help with any related depression and behavioral change goals. People can make better decisions if they have enough information, and they understand how their behaviors and thoughts and experiences impact them. Here are some aspects of counseling and therapy I believe and practice. Counseling includes the client’s active participation, involvement and commitment to recognize problems and concerns and changing behaviors and thoughts and feelings. Therefore, a client will probably have to work both in and out of the counseling session to address his or her concerns. There are no instant or painless or passive cures.

Is life lifeing? My passion is assisting those who having difficulties in life and creating new a life on new terms. Everyone deserves a fresh start and a new outlook. I have worked with adults struggling with an array of issues such as depression, anxiety, parenting issues, relationship problems, family issues, etc. I proudly serve the LGBT community, registered sex offenders, and adults struggling with sustaining a healthy lifestyle. Excelsior Therapy works with individuals, couples, families, and groups, even offering adult and teen anger management classes. We believe that using cognitive testing and evidenced-based interventions with the collaboration of clients creates the most positive impact on helping clients meet their goals. Jerred P. White MA, LCDC, LPC. I earned my graduate degree from Amberton University with a major in Masters of Arts in Professional Counseling and Bachelors degree in Science of Business and Human Development. I attended the Institute of Chemical Dependency school and completed over 4000 hours of chemical dependency counseling in residential and outpatient treatment facilities in efforts to become a fully licensed LCDC. I have over 10 years of working with families, individuals adults and children.

The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Metrocare provides quality, accessible, and comprehensive mental health care to post-9/11 Veterans, service members, and families regardless of insurance or ability to pay.
