I specialize in the treatment of adults experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, relationship issues, and other struggles interfering with overall life satisfaction. I also work with older adolescents, including college students as well as couples.
My approach is psychodynamic, examining both the meaning of behavior while working to address the behavior itself. My style is informal and friendly. I listen for what is not being said in a person’s story, noting patterns that emerge. In exploring these patterns, change begins.
Therapy is a collaborative effort. I may notice a missing piece you might not. You adjust or elaborate on my observation. The goals include symptom remission, changes in entrenched behaviors and the emergence of new and more effective strategies. Often this leads to a sense of relief and well-being.
