It is difficult and very anxiety provoking to make the initial appointment, although, that is the first step towards success! I want to validate that emotional response, and to bring comfort by providing a faith driven approach enlightened with hope and strength for your personal growth and development. I assist my clients to be empowered by their self-worth, and work collaboratively to reach their ideal goal of success and progress. I provide a supportive, humorous, and safe environment where it's possible to connect on a therapeutic level.

For many years I served adolescents, teens and families as a youth minister and school counselor. Since 1999 I've been helping individuals, couples and families who struggle with depression, substance abuse/addictions, relationship issues, adjusting to change, grief/loss and other concerns. I direct marriage preparation courses for engaged couples; provide marriage counseling and enrichment courses. Help adolescents, teens families, individuals, work toward wellness, growth and change. I offer a Thursday men's group focused on marriage and family relationships,

Christina enjoys working with individuals, couples and families helping support them in making changes they want to make. She has her B.A. in Sociology and Diversity Studies from SCSU and her M.S. in MHC from Walden University. She is an LPCC, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the State of MN. Christina has worked 10 years in clinical counseling. She has 24 additional years working with children, and families with services that are person-centered, strength-based and therapeutic. She has worked in foster and long-term residential based programs, as well as crisis, substance abuse treatment, vocational and education areas.

Meet Claudia, a sassy boss babe who survives off of memes, froyo, and swimming. She will be straight up with you (no bullshit), but will be gentle about it. She likes using CBT because there is no judgement (thoughts are not good or bad; they are just thoughts). She grew up in the church and has a passion for helping people resolve religious trauma, process purity culture issues, and find their sexual identity. It absolutely makes her day when she gets to help an LGBTQ client find peace and live their truth. She also likes working with new parents who have had traumatic births or postpartum anxiety/OCD.

I believe that what we are dealing with is not who we are. Challenges with substance use, mental health symptoms, relationships, or whatever else you are facing do not define you. Learning how to see beyond these things to the full and complete person you are can be both difficult and healing. I believe that my role as a therapist is to help clients start that process in a supportive and non-judgmental way. I want you to feel that you are the driving force in your therapy experience, not judgement or stigmas.
