My all virtual practice serves MD, VA, DC, MA and NM. I studied psychology at Harvard University, and earned a Masters in Marriage, Family Therapy from the University of San Francisco. I obtained my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. I bring thirty-seven years of deep clinical experience, having worked in diverse settings including inpatient, outpatient, community mental health and crisis services. I have a particular interest in global mental health issues, have lived in many different cultures/countries and have worked extensively with the expatriot community.

My approach to therapy is an holistic one in which I examine body, soul, and spirit. Therefore as a professional, I place a high degree of importance on fully exploring my clients in a holistic manner. I believe that biological problems are often misdiagnosed as mental health issues; and, sometimes deeper spiritual issues if looked at as only mental health issues are insufficiently treated on the surface symptom level rather than at t the source where healing can occur.

I do believe each person and family has unique resources to activate healing processes. Brief Therapy requires a highly collaborative approach between therapist and clients, and focuses on practical solutions and clear communication. Brief Therapy offers a maximum of 10 sessions but usually don't need that many to promote change in the problem that is presented. I work with individuals, couples and families with a variety of problems: marital conflict and affairs, depression and anxiety, children and adolescent problems, addiction, eating disorders, stress and work related problems. I also provide online-therapy services.

Mr. Williams is a seasoned Licensed Clinical Social Worker and psychotherapist who utilizes Solution-Focused Therapy, Insight Oriented Psychotherapy, Emotional Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as a catalyst for change with his clients. His typical clients struggle with depression, anxiety, love addiction, anger management, attachment issues, divorce/separation, and blended family dynamics.
