I am known for my direct manner and skill building emphasis. I believe in human potential and orient myself toward teaching people how to manage their lives rather than assuming the role of managing their life for them. My principal professional affiliation is with the American Group Psychotherapy Association (AGPA) of which I am a Fellow. I have found that group psychotherapy provides an effective avenue for personal change and skills consolidation, especially for people who struggle with relationships. I enjoy working with adolescents, marital cases and individuals with long term mood disorders.

As an experienced Licensed Social Worker, I have worked extensively with children, adolescents, and adults from various backgrounds. I believe my role as a clinician is to assist others in taking control of their circumstances to achieve their own goals, thereby helping themselves and others to maximize the quality of their lives. My educational background assumes a developmental approach which explains growth, change, and consistency though the lifespan in biological, social, emotion, and cognitive areas. Developmental psychology looks at how thinking, feeling, and behavior effect one’s health and perspective.

I see both adults and adolescents for a variety of reasons including Depression, Anxiety, Addictions, Grief, Relationship issues and lifestyle changes. I also work with individuals who struggle with Eating disorders of restrictive and binge/purging type, as well as individuals contemplating Bariatric weight loss surgeries. In addition to these types of issues, I am certified as a Rapid Trauma Resolution clinician (RRT) to treat individuals who have experienced either single or multiple traumatic events in their lifetime.

I practice client-centered, psychodynamic therapy with individuals, couples, and groups to address symptoms of depression, anxiety, mood disorders, relationship dysfunction, and/or addiction. I employ integrative, strengths-based approaches to assist individuals in coping with current manifestations, and exploring and resolving issues which may have evolved circumstantially, temporarily presenting a barrier to an otherwise strong sense of overall well-being. I am intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and utilized this in an adolescent treatment center specializing in DBT. I can provide skills training (Core Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotion Regulation, and Distress Tolerance) to adolescents and adults. I have experience treating individuals with varying issues. I believe in combining therapeutic modalities to provide a strength and solution-focused treatment approach.
