I am passionate about mental health and am grateful I have worked in this field over the last 14 years. As a Marriage and Family therapist for 5 years, I have found my calling working with professional helpers such as first responders, veterans, and military service members. I have a specific interest and expertise in working with professional helpers who have a hard time accepting or asking for help themselves. I have gotten to know the struggles of the professional helpers and their loved ones that I have had the honor to work with.

I left my career in the finance industry to pursue my passion for healing and health in 2013. I have a warm and caring personality and am experienced working with individuals, couples, families and children. I use a variety of treatment modalities, but my approach is very client-centered. I often utilize a cognitive behavioral approach to counseling, helping clients understand the relationship between their thoughts, feelings and behaviors and learning which they can control.

I offer tailor made counseling services, including traditional & psychedelic therapy as well as coaching, to those experiencing life's difficulties. My compassionate and non-judgmental approach is predicated on offering helpful direction towards specific, realistic, client determined goals. I am very comfortable working with individuals or couples of all ages, veterans and business executives. My approaches based on individual client expectations and needs. Each approach is customized and personal. Phone and video and sessions are available for added convenience. I offer a Christian worldview approach upon request.

I prefer to work with adults and older adolescents struggling with addictions, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and trauma. I have a vast amount of experience working in the field of trauma. Due to my experience working in community mental health, I also work well with those with intense mental health and substance abuse treatment needs. I have worked both inpatient and outpatient experiences, resulting in my flexibility to help stabilize in a crisis and to work with individuals at any level.

I offer services for both mental health and addiction issues. I believe in finding hope and love in all the darkest places. Sometimes we encounter overwhelming circumstances on our journey called “life.” I am here to help those who feel lost, broken, and hopeless when all other avenues seem bleak. I believe that there is no “ONE” answer that fits all, therefore I will work with you on your journey to find the perfect balance of peace and reality. I will meet you on your path and we can work together to find a way back to a healthier and happier lifestyle. Hello, my name is Karen, I am a licensed substance use treatment counselor. I am a graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University in 2013 with a Bachelors Degree in Substance use treatment and in 2015 with my Masters. The next few years I served on the Drug Court team by providing group and individual therapy to the clients in the program. The best part of my job is working together to help you identify what is important to you and create ways to stay sober so you can be all that you desire in this life.
