In my practice, I provide individual, family, couples, and group counseling for ages 4-60 years of age. I have high levels of competence ranging from behavioral/conduct issues, adjustment disorders, high functioning Autism, blended family/divorce issues, ADHD, self esteem issues, relational aggression/bullying, anxiety, depression, Bipolar and other mood disorders, personality disorders, substance abuse, marital issues/relational issues, life transition and a myriad of other complex challenges.

I bring to the practice over ten years of working with adults, adolescents, and their families in outpatient, residential, and inpatient settings. For a period, I served as clinical director of a child and adolescent psychiatric unit. As a result, I frequently takes on adolescents with more significant emotional and behavioral disorders and families in crisis in which hospitalization may be required. Outside of working with adolescents, one of my particular interests is doing marital therapy. Additionally, my specialties with adults are anger management, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders, borderline personality disorder, pain management, and men's issues.

The constant pressures of daily life, particularly during a pandemic, can leave us feeling overwhelmed, scared, and alone. As we try to navigate our way through issues involving school, work, relationships, life transitions, and grief and loss, we may feel so hopeless that we feel as if we cannot go on like this anymore. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I will provide support and guidance to help you identify unhealthy thoughts, feelings, and behaviors so that you can make positive and sustainable changes to improve your quality of life.

Making the decision to seek help can be a monumental task and selecting the right therapist can be challenging. I can provide you with a therapeutic relationship that will feel safe and collaborative so that it can serve as the basis for healing. My goal is to work with you in assessing your strengths, exploring challenges, working to overcome barriers, and returning you to a peaceful and productive state. I will work with you to create a treatment plan that suits your personality and needs. Sometimes, all you need are the right words at the right time to change how you see the world…including yourself.

I will provide a safe place, an open mind, a compassionate heart, and a listening ear. Are you feeling anxious, depressed, or in a crisis? I will provide an appointment within 24 hours if needed. Not in a crisis but just need some life coaching, I will help with that too. I utilize an eclectic approach taking into account age, background, and the individual needs of each of my clients. In my 25+ years of experience I have assisted individuals, adolescents, couples, families when faced with challenges in journey of life.

For over a decade I have worked with Adult and Adolescent Patients coping with various Life Challenges. I maintain a supportive and collaborative therapeutic relationship with my Patients as they negotiate their identified challenge areas. Specific areas of focus within my practice are Life Stage Challenges; Grief and Loss; Fertility and Postpartum; and Anxiety and Depression. Over the last five years, I have incorporated Animal Assisted Psychotherapy with my Canine Co-therapists. While not all sessions are appropriate for Animal Assisted Psychotherapy, the addition of Canine Co-therapists has been met with positive feedback.

When confronted by a triggering event or stuck by life’s challenges, it can be easy to feel consumed by anxiety, depression, or other mental health concerns. However, these challenges also provide you with an opportunity for growth. It takes a lot of courage to recognize your desire to seek change. Therapeutic interventions include integrative approaches along with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy, Psycho-Education, as well as Eastern philosophical tenets, and EMDR. If you deal with Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Addiction issues, a Trauma history, Dissociative Disorders or Personality Disorders, you will receive competent, compassionate and empathic care. Treatment needs can be met through individual therapy, family therapy, couples therapy and/or group therapy. Hi, I'm Kate! I enjoy working with many different clients with varying presenting concerns. I work with children aged 8 and older, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I have helped people struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, adjustments and life changes, self esteem issues, and more. I particularly connect well with adolescent, young adult, and adult women, as well as men struggling with self expression or deep-seeded anxiety or mood issues. Working with adolescent girls is definitely a passion, and I have enjoyed working with them individually, in family therapy, as well as running various groups and workshops.

After serving a wide range of clients, I have focused in on family systems and working with family members to insure the best outcomes for parents, cohesion for couples, and stability for children, thus working with individuals of all ages, families and couples. In family work I have had extensive experience with issues related to adoption and foster parenting. I also work with individuals addressing a wide range of issues that may or may not be directly related to family and relationships. In addition, I facilitate equine assisted therapy, focusing on addressing boundaries, assertiveness, emotional regulation, and confidence.

Sarah has an eclectic approach to therapy, utilizing various styles that are needed by her clients to overcome and grow through a particular challenge they are experiencing. Sarah is passionate about using experiences and adventure during the therapeutic process. Through activities, client's engage in authentic learning and are able to practice new skills within the session to gain confidence. As long as the weather is conducive, she and her clients can often be found outdoors. Overall, Sarah leans towards a very goal-orientated style that incorporates the family system when available.
