As a therapist, it is my honor and privilege to help clients and their families uncover and understand the meanings and feelings associated with their symptoms. Whether the primary client is a child, adolescent, or adult, I work collaboratively with couples/parents to create a treatment plan that is right for the family as a whole. Nicholas Barry is a Licensed Social Worker in Illinois who has been practicing since 2017. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry, double majoring in Pastoral Counseling and Biblical Studies, at Urshan College. After completing his undergraduate studies, Nicholas embarked on a bi-vocational journey through graduate school. He has earned a Master of Social Work through Florida State University and is completing a Master of Theological Studies at Urshan Graduate School of Theology. Nicholas takes a truly holistic approach to working with his clients. This means that he takes a bio-psycho-social-spiritual assessment.

My work is my passion. In a non-judgemental way, I allow each person to share their own personal story with me. In an initial telephone consultation, I take the time with each person to talk, to make certain I know what issues they need help with, and to make certain that person feels comfortable talking with me. In my work with clients, I respect them and their personal values and beliefs while helping them to achieve their own personal goals. I create a comfortable office atmosphere for clients in which to talk about their personal issues.

I am extremely passionate about building rapport and collaborating with clients to create an environment of acceptance, safety, and support. I assist and empower clients to create goals that can be integrated into their daily lives and believe compassion, understanding, and trust are key factors throughout the entire therapeutic process. I strive to meet clients where they are and help clarify which areas they would like to improve. While therapy can be overwhelming at times, my main goal is to provide clients with a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere throughout their therapeutic journey.
