As a dedicated forensic psychotherapist, I am committed to providing compassionate and evidence-based therapy to individuals navigating the complexities of the legal system. My mission is to support clients in understanding the intersection of mental health and forensic issues, empowering them to lead fulfilling lives beyond their legal challenges. I hold a Masters in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling, Post-Masters Certificate in Addictions Counseling and undergraduate degrees in Legal Studies and Psychology. I am also a trained Mediator and SUPR licensed DUI Evaluator with approval from McHenry County Circuit Court.

Life is messy. That’s the motto I adopted a few years ago to remind myself that there is no such thing as perfect and rarely does everything go according to plan. My journey has taken me through a variety of messes…divorce, single parenting, job changes, remarriage and the blending of families, just to name a few. Although this isn’t the path that I planned to take, I am thankful for each step because of the healing and growth that accompanied it and ultimately led me to pursue my master’s degree in family and marriage therapy.

I love working with all kinds of people at any age (5-90+) and am able to work with individuals, families, and couples. I am accepting of all races, religions, cultures, genders and sexual identities. I specialize in clients struggling with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, grief, self-harm, trauma, stress, school related issues, relationships and more. I have experience working at an assisted living home, a community crisis center, then as a therapist in child welfare. I have worked with domestic violence and sexual assault survivors, children and families in foster care, crisis work and suicide prevention.

One of the reasons I enjoy being a therapist is that there is no such thing as an "ideal" client. People are all unique in their own ways and no two cases are ever the same. I accept the challenges of resistant or unsure clients, in fact it brings me the greatest satisfaction to help someone that doesn't believe that therapy can help them.
