Stuck with the same arguments with no resolution? Then you've come to the right place! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master's of Arts in Clinical Psychology. I am passionate about utilizing the Gottman Method Couple's Therapy approach and pull from various theories on attachment. In addition to my work with couples, I enjoy working with individual adults also struggling in relationships but would like a one-on-one focus.

I specialize in families/couples, and I am an Idaho-licensed LMFT and Arizona-licensed LAMFT. Often clients seek therapy because they have become stuck. Sometimes relationships begin great, but life/situations cause a change to happen. We all have personal challenges, have stressful periods, or go through traumatic times. The desire to seek help to explore and process these problems can open the door to positive growth. I have many years of experience working with women, children and families through being a special needs preschool teacher, children's mental health treatment manager, adoption program coordinator, and public speaker. I received my master's degree in marriage and family therapy in 2009. Dr. Ami Owen received her undergraduate degree in Social Science and a minor in Psychology. She received her Master’s in General Family Therapy with an advanced emphasis on families and trauma. Dr. Owen also received a Doctorate in Counseling and is a Clinically Certified Trauma Professional. She is licensed in ID, WA, AZ, TX, FL, CA, UT and is a nationally approved supervisor through the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT). She takes delight in mentoring therapists on the complexities of family systems and consults with providers across the country to improve systems approaches.

My forte is a faith based marriage/family counseling process with emphasis upon a systems perspective of family dynamics. I am a LCSW certified in NLP with an MBA. This blend of education and experience allows me to offer a strong theoretical support and life experience to my clients who are seeking to improve their family as well as their personal development/growth. I use an eclectic blend of therapeutic processes that include but not limited to RT (Reality Therapy) CBT (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy) SFT (Solution-Focused Therapy) and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming).

I love working with couples to help them rebuild connection and intimacy. I also enjoy providing premarital counseling to help couples start their marriage off on solid ground. I have an extensive background at Idaho Department of Health and Welfare where I worked for 18 years. I have experience treating people with mental illness including Major Depression, Bipolar Disorder, and Schizophrenia. I've worked with child abuse and neglect, families with children with disabilities, people on felony probation, and people impacted by substance abuse and domestic violence.

No one feels shame when they need an “adjustment” at the chiropractor and I see counseling that way—an adjustment in our thinking/functioning that we all need from time to time. For the last twenty years, I have worked in the field of mental health, special education, and substance abuse treatment. I have a passion for helping people navigate life's challenges. My approach is down to earth and inviting, and although I am a general practitioner, I have an affinity for working with adolescents, couples, and families.

Jeremiah has worked with teens, adults, couples and families since 2001 in many different  capacities. He approaches counseling from a relational position using Rogerian theory as a foundation of building treatment options. Jeremiah is also trained many types of approaches and enjoys connecting with new people.

I help my clients understand the logic behind their emotions. Once they understand how their mind (logic) and heart (emotions) work, they are better able to use their new tools to reduce or stop depression, worries, pain, and relationship problems. Marriages improve and children behave better once these principles are put into place. They learn how to meet their needs in a healthier way and break the abusive cycles of behavior.
