If you are struggling to communicate with a partner/loved one, repeatedly feel misunderstood or unable to meet each others' different emotional needs, you're likely left feeling frustrated, discouraged, even hopeless at times. Barring certain severe or egregious issues, my answer is usually: No, it's probably not that you're incompatible. But you may need a different level of understanding of yourself and your partner and different set of skills and strategies to break out of the current negative cycle.
I specialize in helping adults approach relationship problems and other stressors (e.g., job, family), especially when the client or partner is known or suspected to have ADHD. I utilize several evidence-based treatment approaches (see below), but also incorporate the latest understanding of ADHD and certain other conditions into these therapy frameworks.
