Therapy is a strange place, where you come to get help with some of your most difficult feelings and deepest secrets, from someone you have never met before! So, if the first session feels a little awkward, that is totally normal! There is no rush to dive in too deep. It's important that you take your time to make sure you feel comfortable and can trust me. The only thing I need from you to start with is an idea of what you want to get out of therapy, and a willingness to be open to the process.
People come to me for help in dealing with past or current trauma, surviving divorce, and dealing with major life transitions. I can help you manage anxiety and life stressors. I also frequently work with parents who want to deal with things from their childhood that they don't want to repeat so they can become better parents.
The four walls of my office are here to keep your secrets, your shame, your imposter feelings, all the things you don't feel safe to share in the outside world.
