In an increasingly fractured world, it's easy to lose connection with the self and the world around us. The conflicting responsibilities of the home and the workplace often leave men struggling with intimacy, purpose, connection, emotional growth, or a balanced relationship with masculinity. As a therapist at one of the nation's leading intensive treatment centers for intimacy disorders, I have helped hundreds of men from across the country struggling with trauma, addiction, anger, unhealthy sexual behaviors, self-worth, relationship crisis, long-term recovery and sexual reintegration. I know that long-term healing is possible.

SPIRITUALITY + THE NERVOUS SYSTEM | I take a mind-body-spirit approach to therapy. I believe we all have the innate capacity for healing, and by following the body's cues, it will show us how to do just that. I like to work with the nervous system: through big-T Traumas a little-t traumas, many of us are not as regulated as we could be. Reasons to work with me may include depression, anxiety, addiction, relationship difficulties, spiritual emergency, insomnia, trauma, autoimmune issues, self-esteem, clarity of purpose, and deepening connection to yourself.

Fundamentally I believe that all people are innately whole. At our core, we are all compassionate, connected, and able to love all of our many parts. Perhaps you have moments when you feel this way, and for a moment it feels like you have come home to yourself. This is who you really are. But most of us have wounding that we have acquired in our lives. And this wounding has become internalized and turned into beliefs about ourselves, beliefs like "I am not enough." These beliefs are so powerful and feel so true. But, this is not who you are. And through our work together you can find your way back home.

Hey there! I'm accepting new clients who are experiencing challenging emotions (depression, anxiety, anger), feel like they’re on the edge of burnout (compassion fatigue, eco-grief, difficulty with daily routines), or noticing relationship distress (communication issues, identity and sexuality exploration, boundaries and agreements). Most of the frameworks I use center around body wisdom and emotions because I believe you are the expert on your own experience and I'm just along to offer gentle guidance when needed. I feel passionate about supporting people who care about the world and want to make it a better place.

You may vacillate between highly anxious and just going through the motions: numb, disconnected, checked out. You feel overwhelmed with your daily life- tense, tight, constricted. Some days, even though you are trying your best, you blow up at the drop of a hat. Things that used to be easy make you feel anxious and fearful. You may feel like you are at the bottom of a well. Whether you know how you ended up here, or if you feel confused and uncertain, therapy can open doors to new ways of being that help you to feel like yourself again.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate, and an IFS Level 1 Trained Therapist. I hold a masters in clinical mental health counseling from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. I work with adults in individual sessions. My approach to therapy is that there are no bad parts of ourselves, but that parts of ourselves cause suffering by being disconnected from who we really are, our Self. By reconnecting lost parts with our Self we can live more empowered and authentic lives. The stories we tell are an important part of who we are. And they often lead us to the unprocessed pain we carry.

My clients are successful, intelligent, conscientious women who hold themselves to high standards. Intimate relationship is challenging. I've worked with individuals experiencing addiction, anxiety, depression, relationship/marital issues, grief, attachment issues, suicidal ideation, physical/sexual abuse and mental illness.
Creating a safe environment is where I begin. I see therapy as a collaborative process that can lead you toward a greater capacity for self-awareness, trust, clarity, a sense of meaning and freedom. Life gives us surprising obstacles, which can make us feel stuck, depressed, alone or scared. With therapeutic presence, creativity and guidance, we can change our relationship to obstacles and transform. Our darkest point may mark the moment we realize we want to change. I use yoga and creative writing in my practice, and have training in mindfulness/somatic approaches, gestalt therapy, family systems, DBT, & depth psychology.

It’s hard being a human! And sometimes we need help figuring things out. Each of us desires contentment and fulfillment in our lives, but it's hard to access when we don't know what we don't know: what's really in the way?, and why does it keep showing up?what can I DO about this situation?, and who am I? These questions become increasingly loud during major life events, such as divorce, death, marriage, a career change, etc. We ALL experience this pain and confusion, but the good news is, you're not alone.

Psychology is derived from the Greek words psyche; meaning soul, and logos; meaning knowledge. Considering this, I see therapy as the brave journey of knowing yourself and your life more deeply. As a therapist, I offer a genuine optimism and non-judgmental space for you to feel seen, heard, and met with kindness. You are provided guidance and skills that equip you to guide your nervous system and mind back to health. We won't go anywhere in therapy that you are not prepared to go. Sessions feel restorative, empowering, and practical. You can feel better at your own pace. And it is a real privilege to support you along the way.

You feel stuck between being true to yourself and losing or disappointing those you love. You are tired of feeling invisible or alone. You feel anxious, might never have felt good enough, are burned out, and fear you won’t ever get to live a life you want to be living. You are tired of fitting into the box of who you are supposed to be and want to know, or be, who you really are. You long to feel more free, confident, secure, able to make decisions, and able to reach for your dreams or have a life you feel good in.

As a humanistic licensed professional counselor, I envision my ideal client as an individual brimming with untapped potential, navigating the complex labyrinth of life's challenges. You may be an adult or an adolescent grappling with the nuances of ADHD, the shadows of depression, the restlessness of anxiety, or the echoes of past trauma. Perhaps you're seeking healing and growth, exploring pathways like EMDR or considering the transformative journey of ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP). Your needs are unique, your story, profound. You are seeking to chart a course toward a life that feels both authentic and fulfilling.

Marriage Counseling Therapists
How does marriage counseling work?
Marriage counseling works by teaching couples concrete skills to communicate with one another and solve disagreements in healthy ways. A trained mental health professional works with both members of a couple to explore difficulties the couple may be having and helps them develop skills to address these matters. Couples who don’t have any difficulties but want to prepare for marriage may develop skills for the future.
How long does marriage counseling typically last?
Marriage counseling is a short-term form of therapy; the process may last between four and eight sessions. Other forms of relationship guidance from mental health professionals, such as couples therapy, are longer lasting, may focus on the past rather than just the present, and are tailored to the individual couple and their emotions, history, and patterns in the relationship. Couples therapy often lasts for 12 weeks or longer.
Is marriage counseling effective?
Marriage counseling helps many couples develop relationship skills that may not have been acquired or tested in a relationship; partners may be better able to communicate and address conflict following counseling. However, there are many different forms of marriage counseling, and this form of counseling does not have as strong an evidence base as other modalities such as couples therapy.
Is marriage counseling effective if only one partner wants to go?
Yes, marriage counseling can still be effective if one partner convinces the other to engage in the process. Of course, whether counseling is effective depends on the couple’s commitment to work on their relationship; however, the short-term, skills-based nature of marriage counseling makes it a relatively easy “ask” of a partner, and the hesitant individual may see its value once counseling begins.
