Dr. Ami Owen received her undergraduate degree in Social Science/Psychology. She received her Master’s in Family Therapy with an advanced emphasis on families and trauma. Dr. Owen also received a Doctorate in Counseling and is a Clinically Certified Trauma Professional. She is Licensed in TX, ID, WA, AZ, FL, CA, UT and a nationally approved supervisor through the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT). She takes delight in mentoring therapists on the complexities of family systems and consults with providers across the country to improve systems approaches.

The decision to seek therapy is usually at a difficult time in ones life. It isn't always easy, but can be life changing. As a therapist my main goal is establish a healthy therapeutic relationship with my clients. In my practice I work primarily with addictions (gambling/alcohol) and the effects on the individual and the family. I also work with individuals dealing depression, anxiety, women's issues, as well as those struggling in their relationship/marriage. I use cognitive behavioral therapy with my clients and I truly put forth the effort to individualize each therapeutic session to fit my clients needs.

I enjoy working with couples and families as I feel that this is where I can be most impactful and the most change can be made. I have a great deal of experience working with couples on issues related to everything from basic communication to issues like infidelity and trust. I also enjoy working with individuals to help them develop a greater sense of happiness in their lives or to aid them in managing symptoms related to depression, anxiety or daily life stressors. I am also able to effectively work with parents to help foster parenting skills and help parents manage behavioral concerns and effectively co-parent their children.

We specialize in Marriage and Family Therapy including parenting, family cooperation and marital discord/couples counseling. We work with blended and divorced families, emphasizing healthy communication and co-parenting. We work with families struggling with issues associated with ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, Defiance and Attachment Difficulties. We have a focus on identifying strengths and able to work with just the individual person or with as many members in the persons' system that are receptive to participate. As special part of our practice I work with sports performance and college athlete/student readiness.

Marc is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been practicing in Arizona since 2002. He works with individual adults, couples, families and adolescents (16 years and older he does his best work with) to improve their quality of life by strengthening/developing/utilizing problem solving skills, improving interpersonal relationships, managing/regulating emotions, increasing motivation for change, and overcoming past traumatic experiences so as to live more freely in the here and now.

Katherine (Kate) Hawkins-Allen was raised on a wheat farm in Washington state and joyfully raised a large family in Utah. She completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science / Psychology and a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. She combines an Experiential/Solution Focused approach with other evidenced based modalities to customize therapy to client’s specific needs and circumstances. She is passionate about helping couples and families strengthen family relationships and heal personal and inter-generational wounds.

The complexities of families and relationships have intrigued me ever since I was a young girl. Even after 30+ years of practice in the field of Marriage and Family Therapy, I'm still intrigued and challenged to find creative ways to solve the difficulties we all encounter in our relationships with others. As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Arizona I have been a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) since 1981. I am a Past President of the Arizona Division of AAMFT. I am in private practice working with individuals, couples and families.
