Susan W. Ratliff LPC Susan is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Athens University in Behavioral Science, and a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from A&M University. Susan has been in practice in North Alabama for the past 25 years, with experience in both outpatient and inpatient settings. She has served a variety of populations, and has led individual, group, marital, and family therapy sessions. She currently works with children, adolescents and adults in therapy. Susan’s main passion in work is to improve individuals, and families lives by assisting in their development.

Dr. Sullivan has been a licensed psychologist for over thirty years and has seen a lot of therapy fads come and go. He has maintained a sensible approach to people's problems, and has found that common sense is an excellent guide for what works in this field. Dr. Sullivan holds family, marriage, and honesty in high priority when working with individuals.

The focus of our practice, is to assist adults, children, and families with obtaining relatable therapy, to reach goals. We assess situations in your life which contribute to current emotions behaviors and thought patterns. With child and adolescent clients our focus is similar, with the addition of close communication with the family. Moreover, with child and adolescents, we will focus on depression, impulsive behavior, limited attention span, oppositional/defiant behaviors, dishonesty, and social issues in school/home. Family and/or friends are welcome in your sessions for support. We do offer 430p-630p, and weekend appointments.

The ideal client is honest, open-minded, willing, and invested in the counseling process. Heath has experience helping individuals with a variety of problems, including anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, poor self-esteem, addictions, and relationship issues. Heath understands people are on different pathways and he tailors his approach to the client's specific needs. He provides an atmosphere that is warm, safe, inviting, motivating, and challenging, in which clients will feel supported, heard, accepted, valued, and validated. These things converge to create an optimal environment for client goal attainment.

I am here to be a tool for you! I want to help you get on your desired path, even if that means searching for what that path could be to help you thrive at life. Many of us have been given the idea that counseling is only for problems. Absolutely, counseling is a great tool for when problems do arise, but it can be used to keep the good going and maybe even spring forward to great. We are naturally talented at seeing problems. My practice, for more than thirty years, has focused on helping a broad range of individuals and families in the area. I have stayed deliberately diverse in the populations that I serve, as well as issues addressed. One of the joys of practicing a long time in one place is having long term relationships with families and groups of people through their having referred their loved ones to me, or coming back in when a new life change or crisis occurs.

As a psychotherapist, I work with clients facing mental health, emotional, and quality of life challenges. I have a strong foundation in cognitive behavioral therapy, but also apply psycholanalytical for its strengths with your individualized needs. Depression, anxiety, serious mental illness, behavioral, coping, relational and personal growth are common areas, but not the only areas focused on.
