My background is unique and varied which provides a broad range of knowledge, and experiences from having served in the U.S. Army, worked in Law Enforcement for over twenty-five years, worked on a church staff and as Therapist. I find it rewarding to help individuals realize their potential, see hope in a better future and becoming their best selves in life. Welcome to Ron Ashley Counseling Services I provide services for families experiencing complexities including; family counseling, mental health issues, parenting issues, substance and alcohol abuse, court mediations, seminars and workshops and EAP services. I provide these services through a comprehensive culturally competent system of care, including community-based support services comprised of partnerships among the Mental Health Services and other agencies with the understanding that families are entitled to dignified and meaningful lives.

My ideal client is someone who is looking to recover from the disease of addiction. I work with people who may be experiencing negative consequences due to behavioral or chemical addictions. I have significant experience working with people who have had interactions with the criminal justice system and/or Department of Family and Children Services. I am a Master level Addiction Counselor with specializations in Anger Management, Medication Assisted Treatment, Sexual Addiction Recovery, Gambling, and Parenting Education. I work with families who have been impacted by addiction to help the whole family recover.

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor, extensive experience in mental health, substance abuse & spiritual issues as a Chaplain/Pastoral Counselor. I hold two Masters Degrees: Master of Divinity in Pastoral Care/Counseling & Master of Education in Counseling/Guidance. Worked over 10 years with adults & now am expanding into work with children/adolescents. There is hope for all! After being a teacher in public schools for 14 years and a director of a faith-based non-profit that helped troubled teens and parents, for 2 years, I decided to go back to school to become a licensed therapist. I enjoy "walking" beside of people who are hurting and struggling with stress, anxiety, trauma, relationships and/or depression. I work with adults, young adults, teens, and couples. I am a wife, mother, and grandmother trying to love others right where they are.

My passion is supporting individuals around identity and LGBTQIA+ issues, trauma-related disorders, psychedelic integration therapy, substance use disorders, and eating disorders. I value the power of relation through vulnerability and take a holistic approach to therapy that encompasses physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of each of my clients.

I understand that every person has different wants, needs, and unique life experiences they come into therapy with. I specialize in working with clients who struggle with substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I am passionate about creating a nonjudgmental, safe space where clients can “take off their mask” and truly lean into their authentic selves.
