Just as the speed of technology has rapidly increased and expanded our lives, so has the urgency of people to resolve their life challenges and move quickly through transitions. Here are some of the transitions we may face during our lives: the loss of a loved one, the loss of a relationship, becoming parents, caring for aging parents, beginning new careers, leaving home for the first time or deepening our spiritual lives. I gently guide people to quickly transform these challenges into opportunities to grow and achieve personal goals, in a safe, warm and accepting environment.
As part of the therapeutic process, I assist clients in learning how to communicate their emotions to loved ones in a way that can be heard. I use emotionally-focused therapies emphasizing mindfulness to help clients know and understand themselves and their partners. Happiness and communication improve significantly.
Drawing from my personal experience as a second-generation Greek-American, I have had success guiding individuals and families in adjusting to the American culture while honoring their ancestral culture. I conduct sessions in my office, via Skype, and telephone. This allows out-of-area, and home-bound clients access to therapy.
