In my 40 plus years as a mental health care provider, I have found that regardless of how skilled a clinician I may be, I am only effective when I have successfully developed a working relationship with my clients. This relationship is key to addressing issues, providing encouragement, and enhancing the client's personal motivation. To make the necessary changes in thinking, beliefs and behavior, I work together with my clients to bring about about their desired goals. My areas of focus are anxiety and depressive disorders, treatment of trauma, and marital and family issues.

I utilize a straight-forward and honest approach to therapy and I am direct in identifying real-life solutions to the presenting issues. I am an experienced counselor and I am often able to connect with and form positive relationships with those who are resistant to counseling or skeptical of the counseling process. I have found humor to be quite productive in treatment and will implement it often. I have experience in treating issues such as (but not limited to): depression, anxiety, PTSD/trauma, ADHD, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, anger issues, parenting concerns, and marriage/couples issues.

At times we become trapped in repeating negative patterns, unable to achieve our goals. Life feels meaningless, lonely and cold. Clarity and direction needed for the pursuit of happiness is lost in the weight of the day blocking the energy needed for change and growth. Lost in this mindset we fill every space with condemning thoughts and fruitless behaviors. These thought patterns result in no room for healthy, life affirming emotion. Whatever we use to numb from the dark, also numbs out the light.

He certainly had a way with words and valuable insight that he was fortunately able to share with the world for quite some time.
