I'm a Christian wife and mom who has lived in this area for over 35 years I work with clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges and many other issues. I work with teenagers who are experiencing challenges with school, family or relationships. I also enjoy working with adults, both individuals and couples, who want more out of their relationships or who are experiencing stress. I use Gottman Method materials for work with couples. Personally I have overcome many of life's challenges and I enjoy working alongside others to help you move forward. You are not alone in your struggles.

My name is Don Bentley, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). My general approach to therapy is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy. Additionally, I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. My practice has been focused on helping clients deal with anxiety, trauma, and PTSD. I also have an extensive background in substance use disorder.

Asking for help can be scary, and it’s my job to help guide and encourage you to take the steps necessary for change in your life….at your own pace based on your own needs. Trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, and even grief can take root in our everyday lives without us even knowing it. They can manifest and effect our well being in negative ways. Once we realize they are there, it takes a lot of courage to seek change. I am very passionate about guiding individuals from ages 12 and beyond through transitions of life that may encompass dealing with these issues and more.

Dr. Waggoner has a passion for working with individuals and couples who struggle with trauma, crisis, suicidal ideation, self-harm, abuse (physical, emotional, mental, sexual, spiritual), and complex trauma. She also works with the grief, loss, depression, and anxiety that stems from these issues.

I am now accepting new clients! I wake up every morning excited to work with people in psychotherapy. When I think about helping people, I believe that establishing a good therapeutic relationship and giving clients a voice is what helps them the most. I also believe that good listening is the main component of establishing a therapeutic relationship with clients. Although I consider myself as eclectic, I like to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness-based approaches to help my clients. With that said, I’m open to client feedback and what works best for them.

I am a LPC in Texas and Louisiana with 25+ years’ experience including supporting children, adolescents, adult’s and families. My experience as an individual and group therapist includes settings in private and outpatient therapy, therapeutic foster care, psychiatric hospitalization, an academic boarding program, a Christian private school, a residential program for survivors of sex trafficking, substance abuse treatment and prison release/re-entry programs. Areas of specialized training include Trauma/PTSD, sexual abuse, ADHD, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, relationships, anger/stress management and communication.

I want to help you or help you find someone who can. Everyone has struggles and sometimes we all need help. As a counselor, I truly believe in my client’s ability to grow, heal, and live their life to its most authentic and fullest potential. I believe that it is my job to support and sometimes challenge my clients to explore their lives, emotions, behaviors, and relationships and help them achieve their own personal wellness. I will strive to provide you with the most sincere and empathetic relationship you need to grow. I think that when a client feels seen and understood without judgement, healing is possible.

My client has difficulty with change and is unable to look at the positive side of things. Normally I see this in young adults feel are not reach their potential and are running out of time. The goal is to pay more attention to the things they already accomplish and prioritize life and recognize that sometimes life provides twists and turns out of our control. Teach the value of the ‘here and now’ to unstuck the mind and move forward; looking more at successes than failures without forgetting To use the latter as opportunities more than regrets.

Crisis and adversity are opportunities to learn about what we value, need, and want the most. People of all ages seek therapy during emotional crisis. Therapy is about learning to cope with the anxiety and/or depression that results from academic, social, and emotional stress. I specialize in helping individuals formulate a 'return to normalcy' plan. In addition to offering therapies that work like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I value the relationship with the client and believe that the relationship is key in helping people reach their goals.
