Motherhood is beautiful but we know it’s not easy. Maybe you’re a new momma; holding a baby, wondering why you still don’t feel “happy”. You keep hearing how lucky you are, but you're overwhelmed, feeling inadequate, and trying to survive with no sleep. The pandemic had you so afraid you’d birth that baby alone. And who knows, maybe things were traumatic and didn’t go to plan. Maybe your pregnant; filled with hormones, fear, and anxiety about the transitions you’re making, not sure yet how you’ll handle things. Despite parenting fears, maybe your struggling to get pregnant; angry, questioning everything, maybe even blaming yourself.

I treat people who suffer from panic disorder (and other problems) with cognitive behavioral therapy. I've studied 6 years of CBT at the Menninger Foundation and for several weeks at the Beck Institute in Philadelphia. Panic is basically a false alarm where a person's body is doing the right thing (preparing to fight or flee) at the wrong time. The body responds as if there is an emergency when there is no emergency. The intense changes in the body - heart rate, breathing changes and circulatory changes become subject to catastrophic misinterpretations, like "I'm dying or losing control".

Discarding old patterns of behavior/thinking and developing new one's will be the primary goal while working together.
