I help adults and adolescents who experience anxiety, depression, and challenges with communication reduce symptoms by improving upon current strengths and coping skills to build insight into symptoms experienced. My specialty areas include anxiety, PTSD, depression, grief, communication issues, and work-life balance. In addition to providing counseling, I specialize in comprehensive diagnosis and assessment of learning difficulties, ADHD, memory concerns, autism, dementia/Alzheimer's disease, brain injury, depression, anxiety, and a variety of other psychological and neuropsychological difficulties. I bring a comprehensive and compassionate approach to each and every client. When your child is struggling at school or when you begin to experience memory issues, you need a knowledgeable and skilled professional who will be able to assess the situation and help you determine the right next step. I can bring clarity to situations that otherwise feel chaotic.

I understand that the choice of a therapist is an important one. The trust that is built between the client and the therapist is important in determining how helpful therapy can be. I work hard to create a supportive therapeutic environment. I believe in providing a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere and encourage people to talk at a pace that is comfortable for them. I believe that an individual has the ability to learn to do things differently and feel better. I use techniques associated with the widely recognized cognitive behavioral theory as well as those from family system's theory.

I focus on my clients' individual situations and work with them to find answers they need to live healthy and productive lives. My goal is to empower clients to use their individual strengths. I use an eclectic approach, which can include cognitive-behavioral, client-centered, object relations and DBT techniques. I am an art therapist, and incorporate creative expression when appropriate. I may use one or all of these approaches with you. I believe treatment is a journey that we take together, the ultimate end result being you walk your own path with tools you need to be healthy and happy.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have 25+ years of experience working with individuals who are struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression, or other mental health or substance use disorders. In the fast-paced world we live in, we are constantly facing heightened feelings of stress caused by workplace, parenting, family, couple or other relationship conflicts. Unfortunately, for many, alcohol or drugs are used to “manage” the difficult times. It is my goal to help clients navigate their most complex feelings and to provide the tools and coping skills needed to return hope, inner peace and happiness to their lives.

I provide therapy/counseling services for individuals age 12 and older, couples, and families. I have over 9 years of experience providing clinical services to both adults and adolescents in residential, inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient settings. I have experience treating eating disorders, anxiety, trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, bipolar disorder, interpersonal/relationship issues, existential concerns/life transitions, as well as other concerns/issues.

I have been a therapist for 19 years and have counseled hundreds of people dealing with the typical stresses of life and relationships, trauma, anger management, and those diagnosed with Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, and other behavioral disorders. I bring further experience from working in behavioral health facilities, non-profit organizations, Illinois Department of Corrections, crisis intervention, and military mental health. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional.
