I’m Nicole, a marriage and family therapy graduate from Capella University, and I work as a pre-licensed counselor at Joi Counseling. I’ve always had compassion for people going through difficult times in life. I recognize that we all need a little extra guidance when things are tough. My passion for athletics and wellness led me to work in collegiate athletics and coaching prior to entering into the mental health and addiction field. I am trained to work with a variety of clients and issues as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have been practicing for over 30 years and work with families, couples, children, and individuals who are struggling with a variety of problems. Some of the things that I offer are; help to families in times of stress, assistance to couples confronted with challenges, help for children and parents experiencing developmental struggles, support for times of loss and the grief issues that result from death, divorce or separations, help for those experiencing depression and anxiety, etc.

Through the course of building a trusting relationship and enlightened experience, my hope is that you will be able to address the stressors or unresolved issues you are struggling with. These issues may include anger, resentment, abuse, shame, loss, trauma, abandonment, and physical health difficulties. As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, I have particular expertise in assisting people coping with the effects of traumatic experiences and other adversities. Additionally, as a Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor, I know how important it is for individuals to have support during the recovery process. Sobriety is key to healing from underlying pain and suffering, and I understand the complications of trauma and substance abuse.
